Hi Ian,
This is just a note to thank you for the excellent
site and for reducing my recent rapid hair loss.
Your tutorial on Len combined with Left allowed me to remove
the space by using =LEFT(A10,LEN(A10)-1)leaving space free
text in column B. It was then a simple matter of using =Value(B10)
to convert the result to a number.
This is all probably well known to you but I couldn't find
a way to do this in any of my excel books. Then I came across
your site today so thanks very much and I look forward to
reading your newsletter.

Dear Sir
Very many thanks for coming up with Excel Online
Training.
I have found it to be very practical informative yet simple,
especially the article on SUMPRODUCT.
Previously I had used SUMARRAY but found that the calculation
time took up to more than a minute. Not only that there was
this tedious and mundane task of entering CSE.
I think that this is the answer or another alternative to
the SUMARRAY function.
Hope that you will have more Excel tips or tutorials
in future
Regards.

Dear Ian,
Many thanks for Excel Extra. It's very good.
The lighthearted tone is fine. I work at the
University of Auckland, in both business area analysis and
project management and I'm keen to progressively improve my
knowledge of Excel. The colour function is most interesting.
I could probably handle one more tip per newsletter.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to the next one.
Kind regards,
Philip Holder
